Nancy Rowe Bredeson
SAVANNAH- Nancy Rowe Bredeson, 88, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Habersham House. Born October 1, 1918, in Register, Georgia, she moved with her family to Savannah when she was eight years old. She attended Massey School, Chatham Junior High School and Savannah High School, graduating from Savannah High School in 1936 with honors. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Bredeson, and her siblings, Arlie Rowe, Sr., Earl P. Rowe, Sr., Aline Rowe Smith, and Verda Lee Rowe.
Nancy retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1967. She was a member of the Savannah Golf Club and was an honorary member of the Savannah Women’s Golfing Association. Nancy was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension.
She is survived by two nieces and three nephews, Peggy Colson, Jodee Lynes, and Pete Rowe, all of Savannah, Gene Smith of Atlanta, and Arlie Rowe of Beaufort, SC; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with Rev. John Ohsiek and Dr. William H. Roen officiating.
